Mustang Seats

Choosing seat covers for a Ford Mustang is a great investment in keeping your Mustang seats from everyday wear and fabric tears. It keeps the seats in good shape, which also helps in the resale value. Looking great and maximum protection is the key buying points for Mustang seat covers.

Typical questions Mustang owners have about seat covers are: What type, what fabric? Will it protect my Mustang seats properly? How are driver and passenger side airbags affected by seat covers? Will the fabric I choose ruin the fabric or leather underneath the seat cover? Are they easy to clean? The biggest question though is will it look good and compliment or match the interior.

Seat covers are available for every model of Ford Mustangs going back to the 1965 model. There are 3 main styles of covers. The traditional style that covers the whole seat and the headrest. Body glove style that covers the whole seat and the headrest which give the seat an appearance of a captains chair, and partial style that covers most of the seat but not the headrest. Map pockets or storage pouches are sometimes included on the back of some types of covers.

Mustang and Mustang GT seat covers come in many fabrics and materials. There is Nylon which usually comes with a pattern, Microfiber which has a suede like feels, Velour fabric that has a velvet feel, Leather an old favorite, Leatherette an artificial leather, and Sheepskin for maximum comfort. The fabrics you choose really depend on feel and what colors or fabric patterns you like and what matches the interior colors best.

Neoprene is a wet suit material covered by usually nylon. Covers made out of this material has a custom car look as the seats can come with different colored inserts giving the interior a custom car look. Neoprene is very easy to clean spills and stains, a warm wet towel will do the trick. If you choose neoprene make sure that fabric completely covers the neoprene rubber on the backside of the cover as neoprene on vinyl or leather seats can stick to the material ruining the seat underneath.

2015 Ford Mustang

The 2006 Ford Mustang is one of the most impressive pony cars ever produced, with the smoothest handling and most powerful engine the model has ever had. The new design is actually more reminiscent of the original 'Stang than any modern car. Owners will be pleased with the upgraded suspension tuning making the car handle very nimbly while still being able to steer through corners with the powerful V8 engine propelling it. One of the factors that make this model car so popular is the fact that it gives buyers an opportunity to enter the performance car market without spending large amounts of money.

In 1964 Ford produced the first Mustang and Chevy and Pontiac would be the only manufacturers to try to offer a close competitor. The Chevy Camaro and Pontiac Thunderbird were able to gain a decent amount of market share, but never became as popular as the original pony car. By 2006 the Mustang would be the only one of these 3 cars in production, although the Camaro would come back in a few years.

Trim packages available for the 2006 Ford Mustang models were the V6 deluxe, V6 premium, GT deluxe, GT premium, and Cobra models. V6 deluxe models are actually very nicely equipped as a base model car. They have standard features like 17 inch wheels, bucket seats, CD players, AC, convertible or coupe bodies, and many other optional features. Premium models come with CD Changers, leather upholstery, optional 18 inch wheels, unique suspension tuning, ABS, traction control, fog lamps and a specially accented interior and exterior trim. A pony package is also available on V6 deluxe models offering most of the same luxuries as the premium package. GT models are very similar in standard and available features as V6 for deluxe and premium models. Cobra cars are made with turbocharged engines and a different body style accents and colors.

The engines offered for the 2006 Ford Mustang include the 4.0 liter V6 engine that produces 210 horsepower and 240 pound feet of torque. The V6 comes with a standard five speed manual transmission with a 5 speed automatic as optional equipment. The GT models come with a 4.6 liter V8 that produced 300 horsepower. The performance package comes with a V8 engine that produces 315 horsepower.

1967 Mustang

1967 Mustang Fastback For Sale

When the 1967 Ford Mustang debuted, many consumers complained that it was too large and too heavy compared to the wildly popular 1965 and 1966 models. It's ironic that these same aspects have caused enthusiasts to cherish and revere the 1967 Ford Mustang more than they do any of those other Mustangs included in the group referred to as the "late 65's".

With the Mustang referred to as the 1964 1/2, Ford had created a phenomenon, but the other automakers were quick to react, and some of them, such as Chevrolet, had already had their own "Mustang" in the works. By the 1967 model year, Ford was facing stiff completion from the Barracuda, the Cougar, the Firebird, and the soon-to-be Camaro.

The now-legendary 1967 redesign was the answer to that challenge. While the buying public was not completely enamored, it still sold well. Ford sold 325,853 units of the standard coupe, which they had priced at $2,461. In comparison, Ford sold only 53,651 units of the 1967 Mustang fastback for sale at $2,692. It is quite amazing how few of these units sold back then in comparison to how popular they are today. Of course, $200 in 1966 was more like $2000 from our perspective.

So few units sold originally has made them increasingly rare as we near the 50-year mark since their inception. That rareness fuels part of our collective love for the 1967 Mustang fastback, but there is more to it than that. There is also the obvious sex appeal of the 2+2 fastback configuration, but there is also an indefinable component of that appeal. The fastback is simply exciting, and it's hard from the modern perspective to understand why the consumer in 1966 didn't entirely agree.

The enthusiast in the market for a restorable 1967 Mustang fastback for sale should know that they have quite the hunt on their hands. They're not nearly as easily to find as the standard 1967 Mustang coupe is. The easiest way to find a 1967 Mustang fastback for sale is to go to an auction house, but in that case, you're buying a fully restored car, and one had better be prepared to throw down a sizable five-digit chunk in order to acquire one in this manner.
